When you drive to Glendeven on the 128, this is one of the sights you'll see.

The Greenhouse Sprouts

All of our new plantings were started in the greenhouse.

Strong and healthy is what they'll be.

The New Organic Garden

Andrew Jones,

Thanks for laying out the new garden. Thanks for installing the irrigation lines, staking the bender boards, and chipping the brush for the walkways with Jose. Thanks for moving in the rich soil from our compost and mixing it with llama pellets.

Soon this garden will be lush and green by your hands. We can't wait.

Storm's coming

A photo taken from the Barn Loft by guest Holly Koehler.

The storms blowing through in January are worth a trip to the coast.

The light and ocean waves are very dramatic.

And at Glendeven you're always safe and warm - our full-site generator guarantees it.

Farmhouse mantle

On the farmhouse mantle, we like to keep it simple.

Wine "Flights"

Join us in the Wine Bar[n] open 3-7 daily for a taste of the best of Mendocino County wines.

We have about 45 wines open by the glass.

Taste different pinot noirs, syrahs, or zinfandels side by side and find your favorite. Or maybe try a flight of Alsace varietals.

Pick and choose your own flight. They're half glasses.

It's fun.

Holidays at Glendeven Inn

Welcome to reception, the gallery and Glendeven's Wine Bar[n]!

Happy Holidays!

The Old Campgrounds

Glendeven's north woods used to be a campground called Memory Lane Grove in the 1940-1950s. A recent Glendeven guest, pictured here, returned to the Glendeven grounds to reminisce about those days and to share stories. We're so glad she did.
Here she is today (left) and again (below) camping with her family circa 1950 in these same woods. (In the picture below, she's the pitcher, on the left.)

Big Bird at Glendeven Inn

In honor of Sesame Street's 40th Anniversay this month, we share our brush with Sesame Street fame.

Caroll Spinney, the puppeteer behind the brilliance of Big Bird, stayed at Glendeven in the Pinewood Room in 2005.

Caroll created Big Bird's character and has voiced and performed the Bird since the first episode of Sesame Street in 1969.

Caroll has also been playing Oscar from the first Sesame show -- from inside the trashcan!

Happy anniversary from Glendeven Inn!

Hats off to the Chefs!

Brian and Shennen Morris have brought a level of care and talent to the table at Glendeven. Literally.

Their menus, cuisine, and service are top notch. We hope you get a chance to enjoy one of their dinners the next time you're here on a Tuesday or Saturday.

The dining room and their services are also available on "off" nights the rest of the week for private dinner parties of two to 12 people. Let them take care of you for a night on the coast.

This could be your table tonight.

Pumpkins!

Fluffy clouds late afternoon

Late afternoon in October. The air is crisp. The recent rains have washed away all the summer dust from the bushes and plants. Everything seems so green.

The Farmstead

I guess with this kind of activity outside your door, it's officially a farm!

Way-back-when

Glendeven's main farmhouse has a rich history.

From Etta and her diaries to the evolution of this farm to an inn, this property has seen many changes, while at the same time remaining very much the same.

Greenhouse and gardens

Vanna and I were just saying how pretty the garden looks this Labor Day.
